The Kayakers Alliance of Larchmont and Mamaroneck (KALM) showed up en masse over Memorial Day weekend. In other words, summer is officially here.
Suddenly, it’s boats, boats, boats everywhere—at the public marina in Rye, NY; atop the office of the public marina in Rye; crossing Mamaroneck Harbor; and back at home in Horseshoe Harbor:
Paddle on 🙂
looks great
Thanks, Shimon. We are so happy to see summer again—it has been a hellacious winter. Then again, we do miss having the Sound all to ourselves… let the games begin!
Thank you for visiting.
🙂 Paddle on… That was a great outing with you! For sure, summer is here, phew, it’s so hot in the Rhine Valley at the moment, 36°… Very nice presentation. I really like the way you present the details from your surroundings. How do you take photos when you’re kayaking? Do you have a light, small camera, waterproof (?) around neck and shoot one handed with the paddle in the other..?
Big hug to the Three of you from us!
Dina xo
Hello, dear Dina! Glad you enjoyed the vicarious kayaking 🙂 Thank you for your kind words here. The camera is a Nikon “Coolpix”, waterproof and even “drop-proof” (from 8 feet, apparently– skateboarders must like that). Just a little point-and-shoot thing, which I attach to a floatable wristband and keep in the “pocket” of my sprayskirt, inside a neoprene sock as camera case, LOL. I have yet to take a straight photo!! Impossible when you’re floating… I do use both hands (not that it helps!). Nice thing about kayaking vs swimming, if you stop paddling, you’re still afloat! Stay cool — hugs to all 🙂
