We reserved our Glimmerglass State Park campsite for July 11-13. Our actual trip, however, wasn’t til the following weekend. Doh! By the time we realized our mistake, no sites remained.
Chalk it up to overwork (not a senior moment, thank you very much) and look at the bright side: Pitching your tent 20 miles away at Gilbert Lake State Park means you get to see gorgeous scenery you might otherwise miss. Enjoy…and let’s hope New York State retains that moratorium on fracking.
Your “misty morning” photos are exquisite, and so real that I swear I can feel the mist tickling my cheeks and nose. Thanks for sharing your travels here with us.
Gee, thanks! We didn’t see any wading birds that morning, just a couple of fishermen (of the human variety). But we’re with you on fog… it’s gorgeous and otherworldly 🙂
Next time, make advance reservations for the herons and egrets!
